New Multifamily Project Slated for West Bottoms

The West Bottoms is an up-and-coming neighborhood near downtown Kansas City. Once a thriving part of the city, it saw a drastic downturn after World War II when the need for military construction suddenly ceased. In addition, a major flood in 1951 caused many businesses to move from the area and the neighborhood was unable to save itself. In 1974, Kansas City and the American Royal tried to improve the area by building Kemper Arena. Slowly but surely, the area has seen redevelopment and revitalization. The quirky vibe of the area attracts many upscale and artistic tenants.

MW Builders is currently in the preconstruction phase of a new, multifamily development planned to help accommodate the influx of urban dwellers looking to live in this industrial area of town. The 262,000-SF project will include 231 units. The anticipated construction start date is March 2018.
